Sailing is , without doubt, El Puerto´s most important sport, with numerous national and international competitions, above all during the summer months. Moreover, the city is well equipped with facilities to practise many other sporting activities.
The Nature Reserve of the Bay of Cádiz is considered to be one of the main humid areas in southem Europe.

GASTRONOMY

The Guadalete River flows by El Puerto de Santa María, an active city that has managed to combine its architectonic treasures and the needs of an important city in a captivating way.

  

If there is one single aspect for which El Puerto is famous world over, it has to be its wines and fine cuisine.

With its strong seafaring tradition, it is no surprise that its cuisine is heavily influenced by seafood.
